 Denver Mountain Parks - Welcome

Denver Mountain Parks

Welcome to the Denver Mountain Parks web site. Denver Mountain Park system consists of 31 named parks and 16 unnamed parcels emcompassing approximately 14,000 acres of mountain and foothill land owned by the City of Denver.

The department currently is updating its 1914 Olmsted Plan in a major Master Plan process. Strategic plans help guide management decisions, allowing Denver to reaffirm and expand its original vision and to be the best steward possible for the historic Denver Mountain Park system. Other completed management tools include the state-funded Recreation Management Plan for Denver Mountain Parks and Jefferson County Open Spaces (2002), the State Historical Society funded Architectural Assessment, and the six-year capital plan. For information on the Architectural Assessment or six-year capital plan, please call 720-913-0617. For background information on the current plan, please visit the Denver Mountain Parks Foundation's Master Plan page (external link).
